Property Maintenance & Field Services

Work vans, service pickups, mobile equipment, and technician fleets.

Field-service businesses run many vehicles on dense daily routes, often with a driver assigned to each unit and vehicles going home at night. Underwriters focus on driver quality across a large roster, route driving, and the equipment and materials carried on board.

Questions fleet owners ask

Our technicians take vehicles home. Is that a problem?

Not necessarily, but it must be disclosed and controlled. Underwriters will ask about personal use and who else in the household may drive. See our article on take-home vehicles.

Does the auto policy cover equipment on our trucks?

Permanently attached equipment may be covered under auto physical damage when properly valued. Portable tools and equipment are generally covered under inland marine.
